Israeli Troops Launch Targeted Ground Operations Against Hezbollah

(MENAFN) The Israeli military declared on Monday that its soldiers have initiated limited and precise ground missions aimed at Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.

According to the army, units belonging to the 91st Division began the maneuvers in order to “strengthen” the forward defense zone situated along Israel’s northern frontier. The announcement was shared through the social media platform operated by the US company X.

Officials stated that the maneuver forms part of “broader defensive efforts” intended to create and fortify a forward defensive stance along the border.

The army explained that the missions involve dismantling the infrastructure of the Lebanese group Hezbollah and neutralizing its fighters active in the region. The objective, it added, is to eliminate threats and provide an additional layer of protection for communities living in northern Israel.

Prior to the ground incursion, Israeli troops reportedly struck numerous Hezbollah locations using artillery bombardment and aerial attacks conducted by the Israeli Air Force, aiming to lessen potential dangers within the operational environment.

The military further emphasized that it will persist in its actions against Hezbollah, which it accused of taking part in the conflict under what it described as the sponsorship of Iran’s government.
